FOOD & UNITY: A Local Cultural Gem Forced Out

Updated: Jan 26

Dear PlushSE16 Community,

It is with a mix of emotions that we share the news about the temporary closure of our beloved Plush Caribbean take-away hut. This decision has not been made lightly, and we want to take a moment to explain the circumstances surrounding this choice.

A Local Gem: Food & Unity

Our Caribbean take-away hut has been more than just a place to grab a delicious meal; it's been a hub of cultural exchange, a symbol of unity, and a testament to the rich tapestry of our community. The flavours, the laughter, and the shared stories have made it a cherished part of our PlushSE16 family.

Michael's Decision

In light of recent developments, particularly the issuance of a Torts Notice (Interference of Goods Act 1977) which would mean the Landlord would legally take possession of our custom built food container. Michael the heart and soul behind the PlushSE16 vision, has made this difficult decision to temporarily close the Caribbean take-away hut as we have struggled to find a location to trade from. This decision is not a surrender, but a strategic move to safeguard this local gem from potential legal complications.

Ownership and Protection

It's important to note that we own the Caribbean takeaway hut, and Michael's decision to put it away for safekeeping is rooted in a desire to protect our assets. With the legal landscape becoming increasingly complex due to the Torts Notice, we want to ensure that our beloved hut does not fall into the hands of the landlord as their legal property.

A Pause, Not an End

While the hut may be temporarily closed, the spirit of Food & Unity remains alive and well within the PlushSE16 community. This pause is not an end; it's a moment to regroup, strategise, and ensure that when we reopen, we do so with the same vibrancy and community spirit that has defined us.

Community Support

We want to express our gratitude for the outpouring of support from our local and far and wide community. Your understanding and encouragement during these challenging times mean the world to us. PlushSE16 is not just a business; it's a family, and together we will navigate these uncertainties.

As we move forward, we will keep you updated on any developments and plans to reopen our Caribbean takeaway hut. Your continued support and understanding are crucial, and we look forward to the day when we can once again serve you the flavours of unity that make PlushSE16 so special.

Now it's operation

Massive love from

The PlushSE16 Team
