PLUSHSE16 Demolition Day Portraits
Join us on the sidewalk as we witness the demolition of our former site.
Stand with us, be seen, and have your portrait taken by Carmen Gowie Clinkett.

As part of our ongoing work to document the story of displacement, we invite you to join us for our first event series as part of #DisplacedSociety for our Demolition Day Portrait Session on the side walk.
The developers have submitted a request for demolitions to Southwark Council which is marked as 1st October 2025. We are not resisting the demolitions we are simply ensuring we are there when this happens, this is history in the making, erasure at its finest and we want you to join us and understand what this means our local spaces.
On Wednesday 1st October 2025 as our former site and local business in the community face demolition after no trading since Jan 2024 we will gather on the sidewalk to witness, reflect, and honour what has been lost – and what still lives on in us as a community.
Photographer Carmen Gowie Clinkett will be creating a series of sidewalk portraits, capturing the strength, resilience, and presence of all who stand with us in this moment. This is an open call: come as you are, stand with us, and let your portrait become part of a living archive of memory, resistance, and hope.
The site has a notice of intention to demolish watch the video below for more info and we hope to see you there.
Together, we archive memory, resistance + hope. ✊🏾
