A space for connection, culture and collective action

The PLUSH community began as a physical place in Southwark, where people came together every day through work, culture, conversation and support. Although the original site was lost through redevelopment, the community that grew around it did not disappear.

Today, PLUSHSE16 continues as a growing network of people who believe that culture, community spaces and local economies matter. Our work now connects residents, organisers, creatives, researchers and policymakers who are interested in building a fairer city.

This community group exists to keep those connections alive and to support conversations around displacement, regeneration, culture and social value in London.

Why Join the PLUSH Community?

By joining the PLUSH Community group, you will be part of a space where people can:

• Share ideas and experiences about protecting community spaces• Stay updated on the #NoPriceOnCulture movement• Connect with others working on similar campaigns across London•

Participate in discussions around planning, regeneration and social value• Hear about events, talks and community gatherings• Support the protection of cultural and community-led places

We believe that community knowledge and lived experience are powerful tools for shaping the future of our cities.

Our Work Today

Since the displacement of the PLUSHSE16 site, our work has expanded into advocacy, storytelling and policy engagement.

Through the NoPriceOnCulture movement, we continue to highlight the importance of protecting cultural spaces and community businesses that form the social infrastructure of London.

We work alongside community groups, campaign networks and policy spaces to ensure that regeneration does not come at the cost of the people who built the neighbourhoods in the first place.

Join the Conversation

This space is open to:

We are a long-standing business of 20 years, now to be displaced because of the unjust behaviours of property developers and their planning permission applications to Southwark Council, which has pushed us out.

5 Businesses in a very active community set to be on the streets of Southwark on 17.03.2023.

With the loss of our site due to landlord eviction because planning was rejected, we are now displaced as a result so in the loss of our bricks and mortal regardless if we built in land we did not own or not - we are harnessing our community in a private digital space to create a united force to bring our community back into a physical place we can build forward.

Our landlord has grown tired of developers which in term we as a community business have been unjustly treated as collateral damage.
